Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the DeepML website at deepml.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

DeepML is a free, interactive educational platform that teaches programming concepts and the mathematics underlying artificial intelligence and machine learning. The Service offers structured lessons, hands-on skill checks, practice exercises, guided projects, and achievement certificates. All educational content is provided at no cost to the user.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Optional Registration

You may use DeepML without creating an account. Optionally, you can sign in via GitHub or Google OAuth to enable cloud sync of your learning progress. By signing in, you authorize us to receive and store basic profile information (name, email, profile image) from your chosen provider.

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at iitdu778@gmail.com. Upon deletion, your server-side data will be permanently removed.

4. Content and Intellectual Property

4.1 DeepML Content

All original lesson text, illustrations, exercises, skill checks, and project guides published on DeepML are the intellectual property of DeepML. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial learning purposes.

4.2 Third-Party Content

Certain lessons may link to or reference third-party repositories, libraries, documentation, or datasets. These resources are subject to their own respective licenses and terms. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with those licenses when you use such third-party materials.

4.3 User-Generated Content

Any notes, code, or progress data you create while using the Service remains yours. By enabling cloud sync, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit this data solely for the purpose of providing the sync functionality.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful, educational purposes. The following activities are expressly prohibited:

  • Scraping, crawling, or systematically downloading content from the Service using automated tools or bots.
  • Attempting to disrupt the availability, performance, or security of the Service, including denial-of-service attacks.
  • Using automated scripts to create accounts, submit requests to API endpoints, or otherwise abuse the platform.
  • Impersonating another person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Uploading or transmitting malicious code, viruses, or harmful data through the Service.
  • Using the Service to collect personal data of other users without their consent.

6. Browser Code Execution

DeepML allows you to write and run code directly in your browser. All user-submitted code is executed client-side in sandboxed Web Worker environments; it does not run on our servers. You are solely responsible for any code you write and execute. Avoid entering private credentials, API keys, secrets, or sensitive personal data into code editors, search fields, or console inputs on the platform.

7. Advertising

The Service may display third-party advertisements provided by Google AdSense. These ads help support the free operation of the platform. Interaction with advertisements is subject to the advertiser's own terms and privacy policies. DeepML is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party advertisers.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service and all educational content are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. DeepML does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. The material is intended for educational purposes only — always review and test code carefully before using it in production systems.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DeepML and its creators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, or profits — arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DeepML, its creators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be indicated clearly. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which DeepML operates, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before either party pursues formal legal action.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms continue in full force and effect.
